Curry Real Estate Executive Mike Long Named President of Kansas City IREM

Curry Real Estate Services’ Mike Long, CPM®, a vice president in the company multi-family division, was installed as president of the Kansas City Chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management at the organization’s meeting on Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

 

His tenure begins in 2014. As president, Long presides over all meetings, overseeing chapter functions and serving as the liaison for IREM’s national entity.

On the board since 2008, Long joins a long line of industry leaders from Curry Real Estate Services who have served as IREM president. Alumni include Ron Castle, senior vice president in Curry’s multi-family division, served in 1991; Rick Wertz, a vice president in the multi-family division, served in 2001; and Ray Brock who acquired the company from the Curry family, served in 1968. Company namesake, Charles F. Curry, served on the IREM national board. 

With Curry, Long manages several properties throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area including conventional apartments, duplexes, townhomes, manufactured home communities, and office buildings.

Long earned a bachelor of business administration (with distinction) in 1992 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a master of science in real estate from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1994. He is a licensed realtor in both Missouri and Kansas.
